This wire contains higher levels of deoxidizers compared to ER70S-3, allowing it to perform well on steel with light rust, mill scale, or surface contaminants. ER70S-6 produces smooth, uniform weld beads with minimal spatter when used with proper shielding gas.
ER70S-6 is commonly used in general fabrication, automotive repair, structural steel, and shop welding, and performs well in both short-circuit and spray transfer modes. It is intended for use with external shielding gas, typically CO₂ or argon/CO₂ mixes.
